The vice prime minister Stepan Kubiv met investors from New York to discuss prospects of construction of an airport in Uman, Cherkassy region of Ukraine.
The new international airport will serve for public and military purposes. The investors voiced their readiness to invest up to USD 140mln into the project. The government assured its readiness for transparency for the money inflows and overall support of the project. From a logistics viewpoint, Uman is very beneficial, as it is located in the center of Ukraine on the crossroads of major international highways.
The other advantantage is that number of pilgrims can substantially increase among Jewish orthodox community coming to celebrate The Rosh Hashana (The Jewish New Year). At this, there is a famous park of Sofiivka nearby, which is a very popular destination among internal tourists.
