Buntar Aerospace Raises $16 Million to Scale Production and Advance Defense Technologies

Ukrainian defense-tech company Buntar Aerospace has raised $16 million in a new investment round, bringing its total funding to $30 million

Ukrainian defense-tech company Buntar Aerospace has raised $16 million in a new investment round, increasing its total funding to $30 million. The capital will be used to expand production, develop new products, and support international expansion.

The round was led by Freedom Fund and an undisclosed international private equity fund. Gardar, Iron Wolf, and Autonomy Capital also participated in the financing. The company announced the fundraising on October 5. The company’s valuation and the size of the investors’ stakes were not disclosed.

Buntar Aerospace plans to increase production capacity to meet demand from Ukraine’s Defense Forces and accelerate the development of new products. Part of the investment will be used to strengthen the team with experienced engineers and managers, including the recruitment of already established teams.

Additional priorities include the development of Buntar Copilot software and expansion into international markets with dual-use technologies. The company also intends to broaden its product portfolio beyond intelligence and surveillance to cover other areas of defense autonomy.

According to Buntar Aerospace co-founder Bohdan Sas, the company is focused on missions where operator expertise is critical, including reconnaissance, counter-drone operations, and support for precision strikes. At the same time, it sees potential for civilian applications of technologies originally developed for frontline use.

The new financing is Buntar Aerospace’s second announced investment round in 2026. In March, the company raised $10.4 million in a round led by U.S.-based Axon Enterprise, with participation from Norwegian investment consortium Munkene AS and other investors. At the time, the parties also announced the development of a strategic partnership involving commercial cooperation and technology integration.

Buntar Aerospace has been operating since 2023 and develops unmanned reconnaissance systems and software for their deployment. Its core products are the Buntar-3 reconnaissance drone, designed to operate in environments with active electronic warfare, and Buntar Copilot, which helps operators make decisions during combat missions.

According to the company, both products are already being used by frontline units and generate stable revenue. The team continues to improve its solutions in cooperation with the military, incorporating operational experience from their deployment.
