Company linked to Andriy Verevskyi plans to build a wind farm of up to 112.5 MW in Kyiv region

A company associated with Andriy Verevskyi plans to build a wind power plant in Kyiv region with a capacity of up to 112.5 MW as part of Kernel’s expanding investment in renewable energy

A new large-scale renewable energy project may emerge in Kyiv region, as Energy RTB 4 LLC, whose ultimate beneficial owner is agribusiness entrepreneur Andriy Verevskyi, has announced plans to build a wind power plant with a capacity of up to 112.5 MW. The relevant information was published in the Unified Environmental Impact Assessment Register on May 8.

The project envisages the construction of a wind farm on a site of approximately 18 hectares in the Yahotyn urban territorial community of Boryspil district, Kyiv region. The region remains one of the most energy-deficient in Ukraine, so the launch of new generating capacity could provide an additional source of stable power supply for the central part of the country.

According to the project documentation, the expected volume of electricity generation will amount to up to 350,000 MWh per year. The electricity will be produced from wind generation, which will help increase the share of green energy in Ukraine’s energy mix and reduce dependence on traditional sources of generation.

The project in Kyiv region is part of Andriy Verevskyi’s broader strategy to develop a renewable energy business. The portfolio of companies linked to the businessman already includes at least two other wind power projects. These include the Moldavska wind farm with a capacity of up to 160 MW in the Holovanivsk territorial community of Kirovohrad region, as well as the Pishchanska wind farm with a capacity of up to 150 MW in Poltava region.

The acceleration of investment in wind energy complements the agribusiness group Kernel’s existing energy business. According to Forbes Ukraine, in 2024 the company was among the largest players in Ukraine’s alternative energy sector. At that time, all of the group’s energy capacity — around 98.7 MW — was concentrated in the biogas generation segment.

At the beginning of 2026, Kernel also announced plans to build up to 600 MW of wind and solar power plants. In this way, the company is gradually expanding its presence in the renewable energy sector, diversifying its energy portfolio and increasing the volume of its own generation amid rising demand for decentralized electricity sources in Ukraine.
