Confectionary Eastern Sweets to invest USD 5mln into new production in Kropyvnytskiy

The confectionary will invest into wafer and chocolate productions

The confectionary Eastern Sweets will invest USD 5mln into renewal of its production facilities near Kropyvnytskiy city in Ukraine. The confectionary carries talks on the purchase of domestic and Lithuanian equipment.

As of present, the company has a small production unit for khalva (halva) sweets. There is a high competition in the Ukrainian confectionary market but the previous experience, including ice-cream Laska production, will contribute to the overall success of the enterprise, believes Konstantin Cherednik the chairman of Eastern Sweets confectionary.

The factory will create some 500 job places, including 70 in wafer production department. The production is scheduled to commence in December this year. Next year, the chocolate production department will start its operations too.
