The announcement was made by André Negreiros, Corteva’s Vice President for Central and Eastern Europe, during a high-level panel at the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2025 in Rome.
“Ukrainian farmers grow food that feeds not only Europe, but also countries across Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. Every ton of grain shipped from Greater Odesa or via the Danube contributes to global food security. Ensuring the sustainable development of the agricultural sector is a strategic objective for Ukraine’s recovery. With this investment, we aim to modernize and expand our seed production and deepen our collaboration with Ukrainian farmers to meet growing demand for corn and oilseeds,” Negreiros stated.
Since 2022, Corteva — which employs over 500 people in Ukraine — has focused on operating safely amid wartime conditions. The company’s head office is located in Kyiv, and since the beginning of the full-scale war, it has actively supported local communities by:
- Providing over $2 million in humanitarian aid;
- Delivering thousands of seed units to farmers near conflict zones;
- Launching a soil analysis program to enable safe crop production in areas affected by wartime contamination;
- Supporting 350 rural women through the TalentA program with training and grant funding.
Corteva’s investment initiative aligns with Ukraine’s recovery priorities, including infrastructure restoration, industrial renewal, job creation, and strengthening export capacity.
