DTEK of Rinat Akhmetova signed an agreement with the American company Fluence to implement energy storage systems with a total capacity of 200 MW

The press service of the largest private energy company in Ukraine, DTEK, announced the conclusion of an agreement with the American company Fluence to implement energy storage systems with a total capacity of 200 MW. The project cost is estimated at €140 million.

It is planned to install six energy storage systems with a capacity of 20 to 50 MW each. The total amount of stored energy will be 400 MWh. This will ensure short-term electricity supply for 600 thousand households.

It is noted that the systems will contribute to the stabilization of the Ukrainian energy network, ensuring a quick response to changes in frequency and power.

The project is scheduled for completion by October 2025, so that the systems are ready for use in the winter period of 2025-2026.

This project will become the largest portfolio of energy storage systems in Eastern Europe at the time of launch, according to the DPEK. It is part of the FightforLight campaign, which aims to provide Ukrainians with electricity even in times of war.
