On October 3, the Antimonopoly Committee granted Epicenter K Group permission to gain control over DivoCenter LLC.
The main asset of this company is the right to lease a plot of land at the intersection of Petra Grigorenko Avenue and Kollektornaya Street in the Darnitsky District of Kyiv, according to data from the State Register of Real Estate Rights. The 25-year lease expires in 2028. The 7.3-hectare plot is intended for the construction, operation, and maintenance of a shopping and entertainment complex.
The construction of the KyivMall shopping center began on this plot 13 years ago, but it was never completed. Since August of this year, the ownership of the unfinished building belongs to DivoCenter. The KyivMall trademark is registered to the Dealeys company, which was called the developer of this shopping center, according to reports from the consulting company UTG.
"DivoCenter" and "Delays" are owned by Austrian citizen Tatyana Bushay and deputy from the "Servant of the People" party Oleg Seminsky.
The total area of KyivMall should be 110,700 sq. m. The facility was supposed to open first in 2013, then in 2018.
The cost of the transaction, based on average land prices in that area, could be at least $7.3 million.
What exactly "Epicenter K" plans to do with the acquired asset is not reported.
The press service of "Epicenter" declined to comment on the agreement.
