The mining company Ferrexpo announced the commissioning of filtration sections and a concentrate storage facility at the crushing and processing plant (COP) of the Poltava Mining and Processing Plant (Poltava GOK). The total cost of the project is estimated at more than $40 million,
The company's press service noted that the closed warehouse premises can accommodate up to 35 thousand tons of raw materials and is intended for storing excess iron ore concentrate produced at the DOF.
Ferrexpo added that in conditions of complicated logistics caused by a full-scale invasion, this warehouse helps the company regulate the planned volumes of production and delivery of products to international customers.
According to Igor Vedmid, head of the Poltava Mining and Processing Plant, previously, when there was an excess of concentrate produced, the management was forced to stop some section of the factory, because there was nowhere to put the excess raw materials.
