Ukrainian drone developer Black Forest Systems has closed its first round of financinng from Finnish-Ukrainian investment company Double Tap Investments. The investor shared the details with AIN. The amount of the deal was not disclosed, but the average Double Tap check ranges from $100,000 to $300,000.

The startup consists of more than 15 team members. The team has been working on the project for more than six months and has already invested more than $100,000 of its own funds into it.

At the moment, the team already has a legal structure, the first product is finished and ready to scale.

Black Forest Systems' product to be launched is an infantry support reconnaissance and strike drone [ed. Vyrok]. The purpose is to destroy enemy manpower during an assault or defense.

"The main difference is that all key components are designed to be used by an ordinary infantryman with basic technical skills. In practice, it looks like a drone (such as DJI Mavic) with a remote control and a simple graphical user interface, a digital camera, secure communications, an integrated combat unit (UGC) with a security system, and more," the announcement states.

The startup is developing key security and control elements on its own, while some algorithms are being developed in collaboration with Defense Tech developers. The drone is currently at the stage of military pilot implementation.
According to Oleksandr Davydenko, founder and CEO of Black Forest Systems, the startup has many open positions.
Double Tap Investments is a Finnish-Ukrainian investments company focused to help Ukrainian Defence Tech start ups to get funding, grow, scale and create relevant impact in their core business.
