OKKO Group continues to actively expand its presence in the energy sector and has acquired another large-scale wind energy project. The deal concerns the purchase of UA Renergy, a company that had previously planned the construction of a 272 MW wind power plant in Ternopil region. Following the transaction, the ownership structure changed: Wind Solar Invest is now listed as the founder, while OKKO owner Vitalii Antonov has become the ultimate beneficial owner. Serhii Zaiets has been appointed as the head of the project.
The wind park project itself was first announced in the summer of 2025. It is planned to be implemented on the border of Ternopil and Khmelnytskyi regions — between the settlement of Pidvolochysk and the town of Skalat. The project envisages the installation of up to 40 wind turbines. In addition to the turbines, it includes the construction of a transformer substation, the laying of communication networks with a total length of up to 70 km, as well as supporting infrastructure and service buildings.
Before the sale, UA Renergy was owned by two entrepreneurs from Ternopil — Yuliia Povazhna and Oleksandr Pokhylyi. The latter is known not only as a businessman, but also as the former head of the Ternopil District State Administration in 2015–2019, as well as a figure associated with the BPP / European Solidarity party: he served as an assistant to a member of parliament and headed the district party organization.
The acquisition fits into OKKO’s long-term strategy to develop its own energy generation capacity. The company plans to build around 1 GW of capacity by 2030, of which approximately 600 MW is expected to come from wind power, 200 MW from solar generation, and around 150 MW from energy storage systems.
Earlier, in June 2025, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine approved OKKO’s acquisition of three wind power projects in Volyn region. These included the Ivanichi wind farm project with a capacity of 147 MW and an estimated value of around €225 million.
In addition, in 2026 the company planned to begin construction of another large wind power plant with a capacity of 192 MW. The value of that project is estimated at around €300 million including VAT. OKKO itself stated that this facility could become one of the largest in Ukraine and the second-largest among projects located in government-controlled territory.
Thus, the acquisition of UA Renergy and the 272 MW wind farm project forms part of OKKO’s broader strategy to build its own energy portfolio and strengthen its position in Ukraine’s renewable energy sector.
