According to a press release from Frontline, Quantum Systems has acquired a 10% stake in the Ukrainian company, with an option to increase its share to 25% over the next 12 months. The agreement is based on a strategic partnership memorandum signed in April 2025. Florian Seibel, co-founder of Quantum Systems, noted that Ukraine needs not only high-quality defense equipment but also advanced production capabilities—both of which the two companies aim to provide.
The funds from Quantum Systems will be used to scale production of Frontline’s “Lynza” bomber drones, “Zoom” reconnaissance drones, and the “Burya” grenade launcher turret. The deal follows a seed round in which Frontline raised $800,000 from a mix of Ukrainian and international investors, including Nezlamni, Startup Wise Guys, Angel One, Freedom Fund, and several undisclosed backers. The round lasted approximately six months.
Frontline is a Ukrainian MilTech company founded in August 2023 by four Ukrainians who have been developing technology for the Ukrainian Armed Forces since 2014. The company focuses on aerial and ground robotic platforms for defense and assault operations. Its core product line includes Lynza bomber drones, Zoom reconnaissance drones, and the Burya combat system.
Since April 2022, Quantum Systems has been supplying its Vector drones to Ukraine and has significantly expanded its local presence, investing around €7 million in a new manufacturing plant and R&D center, according to Forbes (April 2024). In May 2025, Quantum Systems announced it had achieved unicorn status after securing €160 million in funding, including from Thiel Capital, the venture fund of PayPal co-founder and prominent tech investor Peter Thiel.
