Pfiefer&Langen GmbH (Germany) acquired 6 sugar plants of T-Sugar company located in Ternopil region in Western Ukraine. After the bankruptcy of Mriya Agro Holding, the assets of the sugar plants became the property of Prominvestbank, as the owners of Mriya and T-Sugar holding were same and had pledged the plants assets as collaterals upon loans. As a result, the bank found a field-oriented investor during crisis times for the industry, told Vitaliy Sikorskiy, the CEO of Radekhiv sugar plant. T-sugar holding incorporated Borschiv, Buchach, Zbarazh, Kozovskiy, Lanovetsk and Khoroskov sugar plants in Ternopil region and Horodenka plant in Ivano-Frankivsk region. The sales of plants will not affect the restructuring process of the debts of Mriya Agro Holding, as the sugar plants were not part of the bankrupt Mriya, told Ton Huls the CFO of Mriya Agro Holding.
Pfiefer&Langen GmbH KG is a major European producer of sugar owning production facilities in Germany, Poland, Romania, Italy, Hungary, Slovenia, Czech Republic and Ukraine. In Ukraine, the company operates Radekhiv sugar plant (Lviv region) and Chortkiv sugar plant (Ternopil region).
