Ukrainian company Roboneers and German developer of autonomous robotic systems ARX Robotics have agreed to establish a joint venture, ARX Industries, which will focus on serial production of Rys Pro ground robotic systems for the needs of Ukraine’s Defense Forces. The parties signed the relevant agreement on June 25 in Gdańsk during the Ukraine Recovery Conference, URC-2026.
According to the companies’ statement, the new venture will specialize in the production, maintenance and service support of robotic systems. Production sites are planned in both Ukraine and Germany, which will help ensure stable output of equipment and expand supply capabilities for the Ukrainian army.
In its first year of operation, ARX Industries expects to produce several thousand Rys Pro systems and subsequently increase production volumes to tens of thousands of units annually. The project is seen as one of the key steps in scaling up the production of ground robotic systems for the Ukrainian military.
The robotic systems will be used for a wide range of tasks, including evacuation of wounded personnel from the battlefield, logistical support for frontline units, delivery of cargo and medical supplies, engineering tasks related to mine clearance and laying, as well as participation in combat operations.
According to the companies’ estimates, the creation of the joint venture will significantly increase supplies of ground robotic systems to the Ukrainian military and become an important contribution to the goal of providing Ukraine’s Defense Forces with 50,000 ground robotic systems in 2026.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Serhiy Boiev and Executive Director of the Ukrainian Council of Armourers Ihor Fedirko.
ARX Robotics is a German startup founded in 2022 that specializes in the development of autonomous robotic platforms and sensor solutions for military and civilian applications. Since its establishment, the company has developed 12 robotic systems that are already being tested and used by the armed forces of Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Hungary. In early 2025, the company opened an office in Ukraine.
Roboneers has been operating since 2014 and brings together engineers, IT specialists and former military personnel to develop unmanned technologies. The company’s portfolio includes unmanned systems, remotely controlled combat modules, software, situational awareness systems and ground robotic systems. Its best-known developments include the Shablia combat module, the Ironclad ground drone, as well as the Rys and Camel platforms. According to the company, its systems have been used in more than 15,000 missions since 2014. In August 2025, former head of the Brave1 defense cluster Natalia Kushnerska joined Roboneers as Chief Operating Officer.
