Hyundai Engineering plans to invest in joint chemical plants with Dmitry Firtash's Group DF

Hyundai Engineering is ready to consider options for participation in post-war restoration of chemical industry of Ukraine

Group DF, which consolidates the assets of Ukrainian businessman Dmitry Firtash, including nitrogen chemicals companies of Ostchem holding, has signed a memorandum with Korean construction company Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd on cooperation in Ukrainian projects in the construction and reconstruction of chemical plants for the production of fertilizers.

The document provides for the creation of joint investment projects in the fertilizer production industry both in Ukraine and in other jurisdictions. It is about the construction of new and reconstruction of existing Group DF chemical plants. The parties will cooperate in good faith and make all necessary efforts to achieve a common goal – Ukraine's recovery.

"Group DF is forming the strategy of restoration of chemical industry in post-war Ukraine and plans to provide the pent-up demand from agricultural sector of Ukraine. Supported and in cooperation with Hyundai Engineering Co, we will make our contribution to the revival of Ukrainian economy and strengthening of chemical industry. The Group also considers all possible cooperation with Hyundai Engineering Co in projects to restore and expand logistics infrastructure," CEO of Group DF International GmbH Robert Shetler-Jones said.
