The Startup Collaborator program provides an opportunity for John Deere and startups to test innovative technologies from customers and dealers without establishing formal business connections.
As informed by Deere, a number of leading startups working to transform agriculture are already part of the program including:
- Bear Flag Robotics — a Californian (US) company developing autonomous technology for farm tractors and implements to reduce operational expense and increase worker safety.
- Hello Tractor — a Nigerian company has developed an application to manage tractor fleets for smallholder farmers.
- Taranis — an Israeli company that has developed an automated field scouting service based on sub-millimetre aerial imagery utilising deep learning for problem detection and analysis in agriculture.
Previously reported that Deere&Company generated USD 722 mln in net profit in the fourth quarter of FY2019 ended November 3rd, 2019. The company's net profit for fiscal 2019 was USD 3.25 bln, up 36% from USD 2.39 bln in 2018.
