Ukrainian pet food producer Kormotech is strengthening the energy infrastructure of its production facility in Prylbichi, Lviv region, through an external financing model and the development of its own solar generation capacity.
The company is completing the construction of a 366 kW ground-mounted solar power plant, which is scheduled to be commissioned in May. The project is being implemented in partnership with investor Ecotech Invest, which fully financed the construction of the plant. Under the agreement, Kormotech will purchase the generated electricity at a pre-agreed tariff, allowing the company to develop green energy without capital expenditure on construction.
After the launch of the new plant, total solar generation capacity at the facility will reach 808 kW. Kormotech had previously commissioned a 383 kW rooftop solar power plant and upgraded it to 442 kW in 2025, increasing the volume of its own generation.
According to the company’s estimates, during the summer period, the solar power plants will be able to cover up to 50% of the plant’s current electricity consumption during daytime hours. On average, the share of its own green electricity will be around 13% per month and approximately 8% per year.
Kormotech notes that attracting an external investor has become a key element of its energy project development model, enabling the company to accelerate capacity expansion while maintaining financial flexibility. At the same time, the company continues to pursue its transition to sustainable energy, focusing on European practices used by industrial manufacturers.
Kormotech is an international company of Ukrainian origin, founded in 2003. It produces cat and dog food under the brands Optimeal, Club 4 Paws, Delickcious, Miau!, Hav!, and My Love. Its products are available in more than 55 countries worldwide.
The company’s strategic goal is to enter the world’s top 30 pet food producers by 2029, with revenue of €500 million, of which €300 million is expected to come from European markets.
