La Famiglia Co-Founder Mykhailo Beilin Invests in Bukovel: After Two Restaurants, Plans for a Hotel

Mykhailo Beilin, co-founder of restaurant group La Famiglia, is considering a hotel investment in Bukovel following the launch of two venues at the resort. Bukovel is emerging as an investment ...

The restaurateur disclosed the plans in an interview with industry media. In late December 2025, the group opened René, a French restaurant and the second La Famiglia project in the Carpathian mountains.

About the New René Project

René is positioned as a modern interpretation of French Alpine cuisine, featuring classic dishes, a seafood bar, and in-house bakery production. The restaurant is located within the Glacier Premium Apartments complex near the ski lifts.

  • Total area: 1,000 sq. m
  • 438 seats across two halls
  • All-season terrace with panoramic views
  • Dedicated bar area

The investment volume in René has not been disclosed. However, market estimates suggest that launching a restaurant of this scale in Bukovel typically requires $1,500–2,500 per square meter, depending on engineering complexity and concept. Accordingly, total investment may have exceeded $2–2.5 million.

For comparison, La Famiglia’s first Bukovel project — the Italian restaurant Margherita (1,000 sq. m, more than 300 seats) — was estimated by industry experts to have cost approximately $1.6 million.

Why Bukovel

According to Ukrainian and international tourism reviews, Bukovel remains the most visited ski resort in Ukraine and is gradually transforming into a year-round premium destination. After 2022, domestic tourism increased, and Western Ukraine became a key hub for HoReCa and real estate investment.

Restaurateurs highlight several factors driving investment growth in the region:

  • Complex logistics and seasonal construction constraints;
  • Higher costs of labor and materials;
  • Limited implementation timelines;
  • Elevated service and design standards;
  • Competition for locations near ski lifts.
  • In Kyiv, the average cost of launching a restaurant is 15–30% lower.

Next Investment: A Hotel

Beilin confirmed that the group is exploring the possibility of launching its own hotel in Bukovel. This represents a logical step toward vertical integration: combining restaurant operations with hospitality real estate allows for:

  • Increasing the average ticket through integrated services;
  • Optimizing seasonal occupancy fluctuations;
  • Improving margins through cross-selling;
  • Creating a proprietary premium ecosystem at the resort.

The “restaurant + hotel” model is typical for European mountain destinations (the Alps, the Dolomites), where gastronomy is a key factor in location choice.

Beilin’s hotel plans signal a long-term commitment to the resort and confidence in the growth potential of domestic tourism, even within a wartime economy.

In addition to La Famiglia, the following openings have appeared in Bukovel over the past year:

  • A designer “Silpo” supermarket inspired by the film “Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors”;
  • A flagship store of the ice cream chain “Faini Lody”;
  • A “Luxoptica” store;
  • Bukovel Design Store by Fedoriv Group.

This indicates the gradual transformation of the resort into a lifestyle destination focused on the premium segment.

La Famiglia Group includes more than 10 restaurants, among them Vino e Cucina, Vero Vero, Kuvshyn, Khutorets na Dnipri, and Piccolino. The group operates in Kyiv, Kyiv region, and Bukovel. Co-founders are Mykhailo Beilin and Dmytro Halbmillion.
