McDonald’s investments up by 23% y/y to UAH 270mln (USD 10mln) in Ukraine in 2016

McDonald’s Ukraine increased its investments by 23% y/y in 2016. The total amount of investments reached UAH 270mln. McDonald’s started three new restaurants in capital Kyiv, also it carried rehabs in other restaurants in Kyiv and Lviv. In Zaporizhya, the fast food chain is making rehab too, as of present. McDonald’s faces difficulties in starting new facilities in capital Kyiv due to the advertising laws prohibiting placing of two ads at a distance less than 100 meters. The thing is that McDrive sign is considered as a separate outdoor advertising, according to the governing law adopted several years ago. A billboard ahead would prevent starting a business with the usual McDonald’s stand of corporate signage.
