Finnish Fast Food Chain Hesburger Launches Patty Production and Logistics Hub in Boryspil, Ukraine

Hesburger Invests €7.3 Million in Burger Patty Production and Logistics Center in Boryspil, Ukraine

According to the company, the new complex will create 10 new jobs, adding to Hesburger’s 75 employees currently working in Ukraine. The facility is expected to improve operational efficiency and support the company’s further expansion in the country.

Vanda Zamichka-Bergedahl, CEO of Hesburger Ukraine, noted that construction was interrupted twice, which caused considerable delays to the project's completion. While Hesburger plans to expand its restaurant network in Ukraine this year, company representatives emphasized that peace remains the top priority.

Founded in 1966 by Heikki and Kirsti Salmela in the Finnish town of Naantali, Hesburger has grown into a family-owned fast-food chain with a history spanning more than 50 years. Today, it operates in nine countries with over 480 restaurants, including:

  • 64 in Lithuania
  • 53 in Estonia
  • 53 in Latvia
  • 32 in Bulgaria
  • 2 in Germany
  • 1 in Poland
  • 7 in Ukraine, located in Kyiv and the Kyiv region

In Finland alone, Hesburger employs more than 6,000 people, with a total workforce of over 9,100 across the network.
