MHP, the largest producer of chicken in Ukraine, plans to increase exports and processing of meat within the EU.
The company plans to export up to 200-220 thousand tons of chicken meat to the EU compared to 190 thousand tons a year ago, told Anastasia Sobotyuk, the head of Investor Relations at MHP.
Currently, MHP supplies chilled carcasses to the European market, which are then processed, at two holding companies in the Netherlands and Slovakia in particular.
As specified by A. Sobotyuk, the company now operates at its maximum capacity of 1.5 thousand tons of products per month in the Netherlands. At the same time, the Slovak company, whose capacity is three times more than in the Netherlands, is not fully loaded. However, after the launch of the second stage of the Vinnytsia poultry factory, the capacity of the enterprise in Slovakia will be fully loaded. Construction of the second line of the Vinnytsia poultry farm was launched in 2017, and it is planned to increase production to a record 730 thousand tons a year by 2020. The farm will be set to produce chicken meat for the semi-finished products targeting the European markets.
The semi-finished products are now in great demand in the EU countries, according to MHP. In this regard, the company is interested to acquire a small factory that will produce semi-finished products from Ukrainian chicken meat for the European market. At the same time MHP is ready to cooperate with the European retail networks willing to produce chicken products under their private label.
