Scientific and Production Company UkrSorgo LLC plans to grow sorghum in the Kherson region, and also to build a plant for processing sorghum right at the spot.
The increasing aridity of the climate in the steppe zone of Ukraine requires expansion of drought and heat-resistant crops, told Yevgeny Rischuk a deputy head of the Kherson Regional State Administration. Sorghum is one of such crops suitable for new climatic parameters. From this perspective, the idea to grow sorghum has been estimated as economically feasible and agronomically justified.
As of present, UkrSorgo LLC actively cooperates with the agrarians of the Dnepropetrovsk region. The planting, processing and export of such a culture as sorghum will become increasingly important in the long term. In this context, the cooperation between NPO UkrSorgo LLC and Kherson farmers must become beneficial for both parties.
