OKKO bought Kherson oil transshipment and invests up to $3 million

Acquisition of the Kherson complex will help OKKO to create a powerful logistics base for more efficient and mobile fuel supply to filling stations of the network in the South and East of Ukraine

OKKO Group officially announced the acquisition of the Kherson oil transshipment complex. Also, OKKO Vice-President Yury Kuchabsky announced the planned modernization of the complex, which will require investments of up to $3 million.

Yuri Kuchabsky noted that with the acquisition of its own port facilities, the group will also have direct access to the Mediterranean oil products market. This will increase the volume of fuel imports to Ukraine from Greece, Bulgaria, Turkey, Turkmenistan and other countries.

The Kherson oil transshipment complex combines an oil harbor, where tankers are unloaded and oil products are stored, as well as an oil depot, which has access to the railway infrastructure.

The planned modernization will be aimed at ensuring that the operation of the oil transshipment complex becomes safe and efficient, as well as bringing it into line with international standards.

In January 2021, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) allowed Concern Galnaftogaz JSC (OKKO Group) to gain control over Nafta-Transshipment LLC (formerly Varuna-West LLC, Lviv), which became the owner of the real estate sold at the end 2019 of the Kherson oil transshipment complex.
