OKKO Invests in Wind Farm of Up to 80 MW in Lviv Region: 10 Turbines and 35 Years of Operation

OKKO Group plans to build a wind farm of up to 80 MW in Lviv region with 10 turbines as part of the expansion of its renewable energy portfolio

OKKO Group plans to implement a new renewable energy project — the construction of a wind power plant in northern Lviv region, near the town of Sokal. The project provides for the installation of up to 10 modern wind turbines with a total capacity of up to 80 MW.

According to the project documentation, the capacity of a single turbine may reach 8 MW, while the tower height may be up to 200 meters. Electricity will be generated using wind energy, and the estimated operational life of the plant is at least 35 years, with the possibility of extension depending on the technical characteristics of the equipment.

The project is being implemented through LLC "West Wind", a company currently fully owned by the Lviv-based Wind Solar Invest. The ultimate beneficiary of the latter is Vitaliy Antonov, the Ukrainian businessman and owner of OKKO Group. Earlier, until April 2026, West Wind was controlled by a group of entrepreneurs led by Andriy Tabinskyi.

For the construction of the wind farm, the company already has 10 land plots at its disposal near Sokal with a total area of around 3.1 hectares. These plots are leased from MSA Group, a company associated with Tabinskyi. In the future, the total project area may increase to 10 hectares.

This project will become OKKO Group’s fourth wind energy initiative. The company already owns wind farm projects in Volyn region — in Ivanychi with a capacity of 147 MW and in Zaturtsi with a capacity of 192 MW — and has recently acquired a 272 MW wind farm project on the border of Ternopil and Khmelnytskyi regions.

The development of wind energy is part of OKKO’s long-term strategy to expand its power generation capacity. The company previously announced plans to create nearly 1 GW of generation capacity by 2030, including around 600 MW of wind power, 200 MW of solar power, and approximately 150 MW of energy storage systems.

Thus, the new wind farm in Lviv region fits into the group’s large-scale investment program to develop green energy and diversify its business.
