According to Prozorro system, Rudomain paid UAH 450.5 million for the mining and processing plant (MPP).
Rudomain noted that the MPP was built at the expense of several countries, for which $ 1.5 billion was spent. However, 30 years after the collapse of the USSR, the enterprise did not work, and its readiness remained at 65%.
It is also reported that the company will spend UAH 450 million to pay off existing debts of the enterprise.
"It is envisaged to send $ 37 million in taxes and fees to the budget and more than $ 1 million to finance the social development of the city," the company stated.
Rudomain reported that they intend to launch the first stage of completion of the MPP by 2023 and bring it to full capacity in two years. The company plans to process 12.5 million tons of iron ore and produce up to 3 million tons of finished products per year. After the launch of the MPP, 1 500 jobs vacancies will be created.
In 2010, the Cabinet of Ministers tried to revive the MPP and was looking for an investor. Smart-holding and ArcelorMittal were interested in the company. However, the deal did not take place due to the failure of negotiations with Romania and Slovakia on the amount of compensation.
We remind that in September 2021, Rudomain confirmed its readiness to invest in the construction of the Dolinsky mining and processing plant, which will replace the unfinished Kriviy Rig mining and processing plant for oxidized ores.
Prior to that, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Strategic Industries Oleg Urusky announced the signing of a memorandum with an investor for Dolinsky MPP.
