SigmaBleyzer Ukraine to establish USD 100mln fund for gas extracting industry

The institutional investor will also engage with a Texas based company for the project in Ukraine

SigmaBleyzer Ukraine will launch USD 100mln fund to finance gas extraction projects with a help of a technology and operations of some Texas based company. At this, SigmaBleyzer signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Association of Gas Extraction companies in Ukraine, told Vadim Bodaev the vice president of SigmaBleyzer Ukraine.

SigmaBleyzer will work closely with a Texas based company that operates more than 200 drills in the USA. The company has more than 50years of experience in drilling and utilizes the unique technology for the wells. The US company will act as an operator of the projects in Ukraine while SigmaBleyzer will provide financing for the business in Ukraine. The parties consider Ukrainian gas extraction industry as very promising.

SigmaBleyzer is interested in purchasing companies that have a license for gas extraction in Ukraine. As of present, SigmaBleyzer carries negotiation with a bunch of such companies. USD 100mln is a starting amount for the gas extraction business in Ukraine, told Vadim Bodaev. In the meantime, Ukrainian government has to put its best efforts in order to tackle the problematic issues in the industry taking into consideration the negative experience of the foreign companies that exited the gas industry of Ukraine.
