Singapore and US investors to invest USD 300mln in Odessa region

The foreign investors will build two new oil crushing plants, a grain terminal and cargo handling facilities in the Limanskiy district of the Odessa region

The chairman of the Odessa Regional State Administration Maxim Stepanov, the CEO of the Singapore’s Delta Wilmar company Andrey Romantsov and the CEO of the American company Grain Agro Invest Sergey Tormos signed a three way partnership agreement for start of the USD 150mln investment project this year.

Delta Wilmar from Singapore, a major global producer of agricultural products, plans to expand its production in Ukraine. The company decided to build a new plant with a total capacity of over 600 000 tons per year. At this, Singaporean investors will build a deck for handling of vegetable oil and  oilseed meal with a capacity of up to 3mln tons per year. The project will help to create 200 new jobs in the region. The regional budget will also receive up to UAH 0.5bn yearly, from the company operations.

The second investor, Grain Agro Invest with the US capital, will build a grain warehouse for storage and handling of cargoes in the Odessa region and an oil crushing plant too, according to Odessa State Regional Administration.
