Swiss Energy Company PFIFFNER-Group Considers Building a Plant in Ukraine

PFIFFNER-Group to Donate CHF 100,000 Worth of Equipment and Explore Manufacturing Opportunities in Ukraine

During an online meeting with Ukraine’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yuliia Svyrydenko, the leadership of Swiss energy company PFIFFNER-Group expressed its intention to deepen cooperation with Ukraine, including the potential construction of a manufacturing facility in the country. The company was represented by Chairman Fritz Hunziker and CEO Marcel Rufenacht.

PFIFFNER-Group has already donated a certificate worth CHF 100,000 to support the procurement of equipment necessary for restoring Ukraine’s power system. This follows a previous contribution in spring 2023, when the company supplied six current transformers valued at over CHF 300,000.

Minister Svyrydenko thanked the Swiss partners for their continued support, emphasizing that such initiatives play a vital role in enhancing the resilience of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure amid ongoing attacks. She noted that the potential plant would align with the national “Made in Ukraine” strategy aimed at attracting investment, fostering local manufacturing, and boosting non-commodity exports.

According to Svyrydenko, major investors in Ukraine are eligible for state incentives, including reimbursement of up to 30% of capital investments for projects exceeding €12 million.

Marcel Rufenacht reaffirmed that PFIFFNER-Group has fully terminated cooperation with Russia and remains committed to supporting Ukraine amid the ongoing military aggression.

PFIFFNER-Group is a Swiss family-owned company with over 100 years of experience in the production of high-voltage energy equipment. The group employs around 900 to 1,000 people across eight manufacturing sites worldwide.
