TIU Canada Ltd invests EUR 14mln in solar power station in Ukraine

The investments are a part of the Canadian-Ukrainian Free Trade Agreement

TIU Canada Ltd invested EUR 14mln in the construction of a solar power plant with a projected capacity of 10.5 MW. The solar energy plant will be located in Nikopol (Dnipropetrovsk region).

At this, the Canadian company intends to erect five solar plants in Ukraine ─ one in Dnepropetrovsk region, one in  Kherson region, and three in Mykolaiv region.

Helios Strategia acted as a subcontractor spotting the location for the first solar plant. The station will be located in the territory of the Nikopol Ferroalloys Plant having access to all the necessary utilities.

The investing party will use 30% of its own capital and 70% of the attracted funds.

The station will be put into operation in October-November, 2017. The other four solar power plants will be erected prior to summer of the next year.

The total capacity of the power plants will reach 80 MW absorbing investments at the amount of EUR 80mln.

Ukraine has the highest green tariff in Europe which makes TIU investments promising of stable cash flows until 2030. The company also explains that there are a large number of contractors in the country and the mounting costs are substantially low.

The owner of TIU Canada Ltd is the investment Refraction Asset Management (RAM), Calgary, Canada.
