Zelenskyy held a virtual meeting with the executives of BAE Systems earlier that day, during which they reached an agreement on the establishment of a BAE Systems office in the country.
According to Zelenskyy, this could eventually lead to the development of facilities for the maintenance and production of the companys products within Ukraine.
“We are prepared to serve as a significant regional hub for the maintenance and manufacture of a variety of BAE Systems products. We are also interested in forging a more extensive relationship than we currently maintai” the president said.
Most of the weapons developed and manufactured by this company are currently in service with the Ukrainian army.
The potential deployment of service centers on the territory of Ukraine should significantly shorten the cycle of activities for the repair and restoration of artillery and armored vehicles.
BAE Systems might also help Ukraine with the transfer of technology and the production of artillery ammunition and missile weapons.
