Ukraine to build new airport in Western Ukraine

The Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine considers Khust and Mukachevo in TransCarpathian region of Ukraine

Ukraine mulls construction of a new airport in Khust or Mukachevo in TrasCarpathian region of Ukraine, told Volodymyr Omelian the minister of infrastructure of Ukraine.

The Uzhgorod airport is of major importance in the region but there are inconsistencies with the Slovak counterparts. All the needed documentation will be ready for the new airport in H1 of the current year, assured Volodymyr Omelian. The aviation equipment for navigation will also be mounted this year for the new airport operations.

The new airport will be able to host winter flights starting October 2018. The minister has already visited the prospect places for the new airport in TransCarpathian region.

To remind, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine plans to build an airport in Bila Tserka near Kyiv by 2020 too.
