Ukrainian AI startup Osavul has raised €8.5 million in a Series A round to develop a platform that uses artificial intelligence to detect information attacks, cyber threats, and other indicators of emerging hybrid attacks.

The round was led by European cybersecurity fund 33N Ventures. Balnord, G+D Ventures, and existing Osavul investor 42CAP, a German venture capital fund, also participated. Following the new round, the startup’s total funding has reached approximately €12 million.

Osavul was founded by Ukrainian entrepreneurs Dmytro Bilash and Dmytro Pleshakov after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine began. The company initially focused on analyzing the information environment and identifying disinformation campaigns. Today, the Osavul platform is designed to detect a broader range of hybrid threats that may combine information operations, cyberattacks, physical actions, and other methods of influence.

The platform analyzes large volumes of open-source and commercially available data to identify suspicious activity and signs of coordination. According to the company, its technologies are used by government and defense organizations in more than 10 countries, including NATO. Osavul now plans to expand its presence in the corporate market and work with companies in critical industries, including energy, transportation, port infrastructure, and financial services.

One of Osavul’s key products is a technology that helps identify information narratives and coordinated activity across social networks, communities, and messaging platforms. The company is also developing solutions for analyzing public profiles, detecting bots, and identifying links between them.

According to Forbes Ukraine, the total value of Osavul’s contracts quadrupled in 2025. The platform is used by more than 50 organizations.

The company plans to use the new funding to further develop its AI technologies, expand its sales team, enter new markets, and increase the number of corporate customers, while continuing to work with government and defense organizations.

Before founding Osavul, Bilash and Pleshakov had already built a technology business. In 2019, they sold Captain Growth — a platform for analyzing and optimizing advertising on Facebook and Google AdWords — to Israel’s Perion Network for approximately $4 million.
