Ukrainian Company NovaSklo to Build €240M Float Glass Plant in Kyiv Region

NovaSklo plans to begin construction of a float glass production facility in Kyiv region in March 2026, with over €240 million in investment

The announcement was made by NovaSklo Chairman and EFI Group founder Ihor Liski during the URC-2025 conference. The plant is expected to produce 24.8 million m² of glass annually, reducing Ukraine’s dependence on imported flat glass and enabling exports. The project is projected to break even within 6–7 years.

NovaSklo has already secured a land plot and obtained a license for sand extraction. During the conference, the company signed a memorandum of cooperation with three European equipment manufacturers: Horn Glass Industries AG (Germany), Zippe Industrieanlagen GmbH (Germany), and Bottero S.p.A. (Italy), which will supply core technologies and equipment for the facility.

According to Liski, the construction of such a plant in Ukraine also carries symbolic significance, reflecting the country’s recovery from wartime destruction. He noted that the project is in the final stages of contract negotiations with financial institutions regarding loan financing.

Liski added that domestic production would be economically viable, given the high cost of importing and transporting glass from abroad.

The project is supported by UkraineInvest and the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.
