Ukrainian Defense Startup The Fourth Law Secures Investment from U.S.-Based Axon

Ukrainian defense startup The Fourth Law has received investment from American company Axon to advance autonomous drone technologies and critical infrastructure protection

Ukrainian defense startup The Fourth Law (TFL), founded by Yaroslav Azhnyuk, has secured investment from U.S.-based Axon. The company announced the funding on February 16. TFL specializes in developing artificial intelligence and robotics solutions for defense and public safety applications.

The company’s flagship products include the Lupynis-10-TFL-1 unmanned aerial vehicle and the TFL-1 autonomy module. These solutions are already deployed across more than 50 units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine along different sections of the frontline. According to the company, the first level of TFL autonomy increases FPV drone mission success rates by two to four times, while raising unit cost by only around 10%.

TFL’s latest product is the TFL-AntiShahed module for interceptor drones. Using edge AI capabilities, it detects and designates strike drones — including Russian-Iranian Shahed and Geran systems — significantly faster than the human eye.

The funds raised from Axon will be directed toward research and development of enhanced autonomy capabilities required to protect cities and critical infrastructure from drone attacks similar to Shahed-type systems, Yaroslav Azhnyuk said. The investment is intended to support further improvements in TFL’s defense technologies and strengthen the protection of Ukrainian urban infrastructure amid evolving security threats.
