Ukrainian group of companies Avtostrada has invested UAH 1 billion in upgrading its vehicle fleet by purchasing 100 new Mercedes-Benz Arocs dump trucks. The vehicles have already been deployed to the company’s construction sites across Ukraine. The transaction represents one of Avtostrada’s largest investments in fleet modernization since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
The acquisition was announced by the group’s founder, Maksym Shkil. According to him, Avtostrada continues to systematically expand its machinery fleet and in-house production capacity in order to maintain control over key processes and ensure the implementation of infrastructure projects amid wartime risks.
The purchase includes 100 Mercedes-Benz Arocs 5 4142 K dump trucks with an 8×4 wheel configuration. The vehicles are designed for intensive operation and heavy-duty workloads, including use on major construction sites and challenging road sections.
The trucks are equipped with 421 hp OM 471 engines and MEILLER Halfpipe bodies designed to transport large volumes of construction materials. Avtostrada will deploy the vehicles directly at its construction sites, allowing the company to expand its in-house transport capacity and reduce reliance on third-party equipment.
Particular attention was paid to protecting the vehicles against wartime risks. All 100 trucks are covered by comprehensive insurance, including motor hull insurance, third-party liability insurance and additional war-risk coverage.
“Even during the war, we continue to develop our own technical base, introduce modern technologies and invest in our team. This approach allows us to control key production processes, reduce dependence on external resources and remain responsible for timelines, quality and results at every stage of project implementation,” Shkil said.
According to the company’s founder, since the beginning of the full-scale war, the group has invested more than UAH 10 billion in machinery, specialized equipment and the development of its own production capacity. The purchase of the new Mercedes-Benz trucks is therefore part of Avtostrada’s long-term program to expand its technical and operational base.
The transaction was financed jointly with OTP Leasing Ukraine, which has worked with Avtostrada for approximately 10 years. Leasing financing allows the company to renew its equipment fleet while preserving financial resources for the implementation of other large-scale infrastructure projects.
The investment in machinery comes amid high utilization of Avtostrada’s production assets. The company operates across multiple segments of infrastructure construction, including road and bridge construction, industrial and underground construction, as well as engineering and design.
At the same time, the financial performance of one of the group’s key legal entities declined significantly in the first half of 2026. According to YouControl, Avtostrada Group LLC recorded a net profit of UAH 2.4 million in January–June, compared with UAH 91.1 million in the same period of 2025. The company’s net revenue decreased from UAH 5.13 billion to UAH 1.92 billion.
The company’s investment activity is also being affected by wartime risks. In early August, a missile strike on Avtostrada’s production base in Kyiv destroyed or damaged more than 20 units of machinery. A concrete plant, an equipment repair service center, production facilities and a laboratory complex were also damaged or destroyed.
Despite the loss of production infrastructure and continuing wartime risks, Avtostrada continues to invest in its technical base. The purchase of 100 new dump trucks allows the company to offset part of the pressure on its existing fleet, increase the autonomy of construction operations and support infrastructure projects across different regions of Ukraine with its own resources.
