Ukrainian Pet Food Manufacturer Kormotech Considers Romania for New Production Facility

Ukrainian pet food manufacturer Kormotech is exploring options for expansion within Ukraine and considering Romania as a potential location for a new production facility

According to Kormotech's CEO Ihor Paraniak, the company currently operates two production plants in Ukraine: a wet food facility with an annual capacity of 27,000 tonnes, and a dry food facility with a capacity of 55,000 tonnes.

Paraniak noted that Poland, Romania, and neighboring countries are strategic markets for Kormotech's sales, making Romania a strong candidate for the company’s next international manufacturing site.

"We are primarily looking for special economic zones that offer favorable investment conditions or strong capital return incentives — such as tax exemptions for a defined period, similar to those in Lithuania," Paraniak said.

He also emphasized Romania’s commercial potential:

"In addition to investment incentives, we see Romania as a market where our sales are expected to grow significantly. It is likely to become a key market for us in the near future. Local manufacturing would shorten the distance to our customers and help boost brand loyalty."

Founded in 2003, Kormotech is a global family-owned company with Ukrainian roots, producing premium nutrition for cats and dogs under the brands Optimeal, Delickcious, Club 4 Paws, and Gav! My Love. The company operates manufacturing facilities in both Ukraine and the EU, with a product portfolio exceeding 650 SKUs.
