Ukrainians bought three times more of foreign property compared to last year volumes. And despite active purchasing of foreign property by Ukrainians, other CIS countries had been buying even more. For instance, investors from Kazakhstan: every deal of a Ukrainian was outnumbered by 2-3 deals by citizens of Kazakhstan depending upon a property type.
The share of the buyers of foreign property willing to relocate has substantially decreased in 2016, according to Hayat Estate in Ukraine. These were mainly buyers from eastern parts of Ukraine.
The instability of domestic banking sector worked well for foreign property markets. The deposits withdrawals in Ukraine went for real estate abroad. Hayat Estate registered the largest number of prospects enquiring for real estate investment options abroad, told the managing partner Vyacheslav Fomenko.
Worth noting, an average deal value increased from EUR 62 000 to EUR 95 000 in 2016. Ukrainians bought property mainly in Turkey, Spain, Thailand, and Cyprus.
