As reported in Ukrgasvydobuvannya, the company won an electronic auction for the purchase of a special permit for the use of mineral resources of the Yuzhno-Rusanovskaya area.
The Yuzhno-Rusanovsky area has an area of 317 km2 and is located in the Sumy and Poltava regions.
Maxim Vitik, Director for Strategic Projects of the Naftogaz Exploration and Production Division, noted that the company believes in a great prospects in this area based on the results of earlier geological studies in this region. The company already has fields next to the mentioned area, the potential of which has already been proven. The development of sites in the Dnieper-Donets basin requires the use of modern technologies. For this, internal expertise was strengthened and experienced international partners were attracted to help attract the latest developments to Ukraine.
Ukrgasvydobuvannya acquired the Yuzhno-Rusanovskaya area for UAH 304.6 million, which will go to the state budget of Ukraine. The company obtained the right to own a special permit for the Yuzhno-Rusanovsky area for 20 years.
