Ukrtruboizol Launches New Pipe Production Facility in Ukraine with UAH 150M Investment, Including On-Site Solar Plant

Ukrainian industrial manufacturer Ukrtruboizol has launched a new production workshop in the Dnipropetrovsk region for the manufacturing of plastic pipes used in municipal water and heating infrastructure.

According to Dmytro Kysylevskyi, Member of Parliament and Deputy Head of the Economic Affairs Committee of the Verkhovna Rada, Ukrtruboizol is Ukraine’s largest producer of large-diameter longitudinally welded steel pipes (ranging from 426 mm to 1,422 mm) and anti-corrosion coatings for internal and external pipe surfaces.

The new facility is designed to produce:

  • Up to 3.5 km/month of polyethylene pipes with a diameter of 1,200 mm
  • Up to 12 km/month of pre-insulated pipes with a diameter of 133 mm

The workshop will employ 30 staff and is powered by an integrated 1.3 MW solar power plant, contributing to the facility’s energy independence.

The total investment exceeds UAH 150 million (approx. $3.8 million), and the project was partially financed under Ukraine’s “5-7-9%” affordable lending program.

Kysylevskyi also noted that only a few companies in Ukraine currently produce large-diameter pipes, and public procurement represents a significant portion of the domestic market. He emphasized the need to protect local manufacturers from subsidized imports from countries such as China and Turkey to ensure fair competition.
