The amount and terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Silvaco comments on the deal, “IC designers are looking for DRC/LVS tools that provide quick run-times, compatibility with their current design flow, and can take advantage of server farms to divide-and-conquer the largest verification tasks. The Polyteda technology provides all of this and more.”
“Polyteda is a success story for the Ukraine high technology community. Its hard work and technical vision will now be enjoyed by a much wider audience through this acquisition by Silvaco,” says Evgeni Utkin, Chairman of the board at Polyteda Cloud.
Polyteda Cloud is a spin-off of Polyteda Ukraine, which in turn is part of Evgeni Utkin’s KM Core holding. Polyteda Ukraine was founded in 2009, and KM Core invested $13 million in it, as Evgeni Utkin said earlier.
The company creates software to test integrated circuits before manufacturing. In 2016, it raised 1.2 million euros from the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 SME Instrument program.
