A large-scale investment project in the poultry sector is planned for implementation in Volyn Region. Kort Agro Plus LLC intends to build a new livestock complex in the village of Kortelisy, Kovel District, which will allow the company to keep up to 600,000 laying hens simultaneously and produce around 37.4 million eggs per year.
The relevant plans were disclosed in the environmental impact assessment (EIA) documentation, with public consultations initiated by the Ratne Settlement Council.
According to the project, the complex will include the construction of six single-storey production buildings. Five of them will be used for keeping laying hens, while one additional facility will be designated for raising young poultry up to 17 weeks of age. Each poultry house is designed to accommodate up to 100,000 birds, bringing the total planned capacity of the enterprise to 600,000 birds kept simultaneously.
Once the complex reaches full capacity, the enterprise will be able to produce around 95,000 eggs per day. Annual production is estimated at 37.4 million eggs, which will contribute to increasing the supply of poultry products on the domestic market and strengthening the region’s position in the agricultural sector.
The implementation of the project will become one of the largest new poultry industry facilities in Volyn Region and may contribute to the creation of additional jobs, the development of rural infrastructure and the attraction of investment into the region’s agro-industrial complex.
The project is currently undergoing public consultations as part of the environmental impact assessment procedure, during which residents and stakeholders may submit comments and proposals regarding the planned construction.
