The agricultural Ekoprod launched the first stage of its new biofuel plant in Donetsk region of Ukraine. The total amount of investment amounts to EUR 5.4mln, out of which EUR 4.2mln is a long term facility from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the rest is own funds of the company. The biofuel plant will use cattle manure, silos from energy plants, and waste from seed production. The company will produce electricity from co-generation units and send it to the electricity grids.
Ekoprod specializes in planting and animal production. The company also produces milk products, flour, groats, and animal fodder.
To remind, Gnidava Sugar Plant (Lutsk) voiced its plans to erect a brand new biogas plant to be located in the Volyn region of Western Ukraine.
As we reported, Gals Agro raised EUR 10mln from Raiffeisen Bank Aval for the construction of two biofuel plants in Central Ukraine.
