The National Bank of Ukraine spent almost USD 50mln for printing paper money for domestic economy back in 2016, told Ruslan Kravets from the NBU department of reforms. The currency board is looking for ways to diminish the use of cash in Ukraine, widely labeled as a cash cow country. Along with the regulator, banks, and society strive for change, believes the NBU representative. The cash in circulation amounts to UAH 331bn (USD 12.2bn) as of 1 July, 2017, UAH 10bn less from the start of the year.
