Finland and Ukraine have agreed on a new cooperation package worth approximately €300 million. The agreements cover the defense industry, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) production, technology development, and other areas of support for Ukraine.
One of the key components of the package is an initiative under the Drone Deal framework, which includes measures worth approximately €200 million. The cooperation aims to expand the production of unmanned systems, advance technological development, and localize manufacturing. The two countries are also exploring the development of satellite communications and other technologies needed to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
The new package of agreements is expected to expand cooperation between Ukraine and Finland in security and defense technologies. However, the total value of approximately €300 million represents the overall value of the agreements and does not mean that the entire amount constitutes direct equity investment in Ukrainian companies.
