On June 30, the IMF Executive Board completed the eighth review of Ukraine’s four-year EFF program, unlocking the ninth tranche of approximately $500 million.
According to Ukraine’s Finance Minister Serhii Marchenko, the successful review enables the government to direct additional funding toward priority budget needs. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the IMF has provided $13.3 billion in financial assistance to Ukraine. Reform efforts aimed at ensuring macroeconomic stability, strengthening governance, supporting recovery, and advancing EU integration remain ongoing.
The IMF is currently the third-largest financial donor to Ukraine after the European Union and the United States.
On March 31, 2023, the IMF approved a four-year Extended Fund Facility for Ukraine totaling $15.5 billion (SDR 11.6 billion), as part of a broader international support package estimated at $148 billion through 2027.
