Ukrainian entrepreneur Maksym Krippa, known as a co-owner of esports team NAVI and game developer GSC Game World, has expanded his investments in game development and become a co-owner of mobile game studio Burny Games. The deal was disclosed on March 30 through a statement by his press service, although the size of the acquired stake and the amount of the investment were not disclosed.
In fact, cooperation between Krippa and Burny Games dates back to the studio’s founding in 2022, when he acted as an investor and strategic partner. This partnership has now been formally structured through an equity participation in the company, becoming a logical next step in the development of their relationship.
Burny Games expects that bringing Krippa on board as a co-owner will help accelerate the company’s growth and strengthen its position in international markets. According to the studio’s CEO, Anatolii Henys, the team has been building the business from the outset with the ambition of becoming a global player, and the additional investment will allow it to move toward that goal more quickly.
Maksym Krippa has emphasized that the mobile gaming segment is currently one of the most dynamic in the industry. He noted that Burny Games demonstrated maturity and strong scaling potential from its earliest stages, and that partnerships of this kind can help shape a new generation of Ukrainian game development companies capable of competing globally.
Burny Games specializes in the development of mobile puzzle games and brings together around 140 specialists, covering the full product cycle from development to release. The studio’s portfolio includes around ten projects, and as of March 2026, the total number of downloads of its games had exceeded 65 million.
One of the company’s notable successes was Colorwood Words, which topped the Ukrainian App Store in 2025, surpassing even the popular platform Roblox. In the same year, the studio also began developing its own publishing division.
The investment in Burny Games marks another step for Krippa in expanding his gaming business. He had previously invested in GSC Game World: in 2020, he acquired 40% of the company, and in 2023, he increased his stake by another 42%. The studio gained international recognition through the Cossacks and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. franchises.
In addition, Maksym Krippa fully owns esports organization NAVI, as well as media company Maincast, which produces and broadcasts sports and esports video content, making him one of the key figures in Ukraine’s gaming and esports industry.
