Nestle will invest UAH 700mln (USD 28mln) in modernization of its production facilities in Ukraine, told Ansgar Bornemann the chief executive of Nestle for Moldova and Ukraine at the press conference with Yulia Svitlychna the head of Kharkiv State Administration.
The preparations for the modernization plan started in 2015 and the financial plan for the investment was approved at the start of 2018. The modernization project regards the general development of the plant, improvement of the working conditions for workers, and enhancing the product competitiveness.
The project has two phases. At the phase 1, the current logistics facility will be transformed into a production floor area. The phase 2 of the reconstruction assumes infrastructural communications development and relocating of the production lines.
Notably, Nestle exports to 17 countries about a half of its production volumes from its plant in Kharkiv, told Yulia Svitlychna.
The Ukrainian businesses of the world major Nestle are confectionary, coffee and other drinks, food products and fast food, baby food, healthcare nutrition, breakfast cereals, and pet food.
