Polish company Grupa Mosty plans to commission the 162 MW Mayaky Wind Farm in Ukraine’s Odesa region by the end of 2028. The project secured a state support allocation following Ukraine’s renewable energy auction held in September 2026.
According to Grupa Mosty executives, the company expects the project to reach ready-to-build status in the first quarter of 2027, with financial close targeted for the second or third quarter of the same year. However, the developer has not yet disclosed the project's total investment cost, potential lenders or war-risk insurance arrangements.
Grupa Mosty Chief Financial Officer Jacek Skrabacz noted that the pool of financial institutions willing to finance renewable energy projects in Ukraine amid the ongoing war remains limited. The company believes that winning the auction and signing a state support agreement will improve the project's bankability and strengthen confidence among potential investors.
The project involves the installation of 36 Vestas wind turbines, each with a capacity of 4.5 MW. The company is already in discussions with potential contractors regarding civil works, electrical infrastructure development and equipment installation. Following the wind farm’s commissioning, Grupa Mosty is also considering the deployment of battery energy storage systems (BESS) to enhance operational flexibility and optimize the use of electricity generated by the facility.
Grupa Mosty has been developing the Mayaky project since 2022 and is pursuing it as a standalone investment. According to the company, its total commissioned renewable energy capacity exceeds 80 MW. In Poland, the developer has completed projects with a combined capacity of 57.5 MW, including 44 MW of wind power and 13.5 MW of solar generation. In Georgia, the company has commissioned a 5.2 MW solar power plant.
Mayaky is among the projects that secured support allocations under Ukraine’s wind energy auction. Grupa Mosty’s subsidiary, Mosty Odessy 1 LLC, was awarded a quota of 162 MWh at a price of €0.07 per kWh. Other auction winners include projects developed by Naftogaz Group, Elementum Energy and Kernel.
