The State Property Fund of Ukraine Makes Third Attempt to Sell 115-Year-Old Budfarfor Plant for UAH 207.6 Million

Ukraine’s State Property Fund is making a third attempt to sell the 115-year-old Slavuta-based Budfarfor plant, listing it for auction at UAH 207.6 million after two unsuccessful rounds

The State Property Fund of Ukraine is once again preparing to auction one of Europe’s oldest sanitary ceramics factories — the Budfarfor plant in Slavuta, Khmelnytskyi region. The new auction is scheduled for 10 December, with a starting price of UAH 207.6 million, the SPFU press service reported.

The asset package includes 38 real estate objects: production workshops, warehouses, garages, retail premises, as well as a café-bar and other facilities. The total building area exceeds 80,000 square meters. Founded in 1909, the plant has long specialized in producing porcelain sanitary ware — toilets, cisterns, various types of washbasins, pedestals, and related products.

Since 2003, the enterprise has been leased by several companies. It was initially leased by the UkrBudMaterialy corporation, later by Finland’s Sanitec Corporation, and subsequently by Switzerland’s Geberit. However, after constructing a new logistics center in Slavuta, Geberit terminated its lease of the older production facilities.

The State Property Fund has already attempted to sell the asset twice — on 23 July and 2 October — but both auctions attracted no bidders. The agency is now preparing for the third attempt.
