Volyn-Zerno-Produkt to Build a New Seed Plant in Volyn Region

Volyn-Zerno-Produkt (VILIYA) has launched construction of a seed plant in Volyn region while continuing its active spring sowing campaign

Volyn-Zerno-Produkt, operating under the VILIYA brand, has started construction of a new seed plant in Ukraine’s Volyn region. The announcement was made by the company’s founder, Yevhen Dudka, during a working visit by Roman Romaniuk, Acting Head of the Volyn Regional Military Administration, who inspected the company’s production facilities.

According to Dudka, the launch of the new plant is of strategic importance for the company. First of all, it will allow VILIYA to secure high-quality seed material for its own needs at a more affordable cost, which is particularly important amid rising expenses in the agricultural sector. Most of the seed material produced at the plant will be used internally, although the company is already establishing cooperation with international seed producers, which may point to prospects for further expansion and a potential move into commercial seed sales.

At the same time as implementing the investment project, the company is actively conducting its spring sowing campaign. At this stage, sowing of spring durum wheat, spring barley, and peas has already been completed. In addition, the company’s farmers are carrying out soil moisture conservation measures, which are an important part of preparation for the next phases of fieldwork.

In the near term, the company plans to begin sowing sugar beet and sunflower. This will be followed by soybean and corn sowing, with corn accounting for the largest share of VILIYA’s crop structure. In this way, the company is simultaneously implementing a large-scale investment project while continuing to manage its ongoing agricultural operations efficiently.
