Forbes 2026 Ranking: The World’s Richest People

The Forbes Top 100 ranking of the world’s richest people in 2026. The full Forbes 2026 ranking: Top 100 richest people in the world. Who topped the list, how billionaires’ fortunes changed, and ...

Elon Musk remains the world’s richest person by a wide margin since May 2024. As of early 2026, his net worth totaled $627 billion, with an annual increase of $194 billion.

The ten richest people on the planet enter 2026 amid an “arms race” in artificial intelligence. Following Google’s mid-November launch of the Gemini 3 model, its parent company Alphabet has likely moved into the lead. This made Google cofounder Larry Page the world’s second-richest person for the first time. His wealth at the start of 2026 is estimated at $270 billion. Page overtook Oracle’s Larry Ellison and Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, who dropped to lower positions accordingly.

Google cofounder Sergey Brin became the second-biggest winner among the top ten: his wealth increased by $92.3 billion to $251 billion.

Elon Musk remains the world’s richest person by a wide margin, although he was also the third-biggest loser over the month. His net worth is estimated at $483 billion, even after Tesla shares fell 6% and his fortune declined by $15 billion.

In total, there are more than 3,000 billionaires worldwide as of early 2026.

Below is the Forbes Top 100 list of the world’s richest people as of January 1, 2026. The combined wealth of this group totals nearly $7 trillion.
